Background
Mad Lab is a winery, tasting room, and subscription wine club in Buellton, CA. Founders Tom and Mike are utterly and completely mad about wine, but fed up with the pretentious culture surrounding it. With a goal of pulling back the curtain on the winemaking process, they put experimentation before tradition, and fun before frills.
Driven by the idea of blending creativity with technical wizardry, we created a clean but playful custom-type logo to speak to the fluidity between science and art, and dialed up standard grape colors for a bright, fresh, and unexpected color palette.
