Since 1994, Essential Baking has been an independent spirit in the Pacific Northwest, baking delicious bread with simple ingredients. Our goal was simple: to honor their beloved 40+ year heritage, while creating a modern, scalable brand that felt handcrafted, warm and welcoming — plus a dash of eccentricity!

For their logo, we retained the iconic arching sun rays, but introduced the new, hand-drawn “sunloaf” icon—a hidden gem that combines the sun’s warmth, the arch of a baker’s hearth, and a classic bread loaf with score marks (see if you can spot them!).

Paired with a warm, bright, and earthy color palette, Essential Baking’s new brand captures their 90s Seattle roots, hand-hewn, artisanal feel and independent spirit for years to come.
