Background

Handcrafted meat calls for handcrafted design. Inspired by its family heritage, People People designed a suite of new labels and collateral for Salumi’s full product lineup. A custom pattern was created on butcher paper by hand — rolling a pasta cutter dipped in paint — a tribute to Marilyn Batali, who makes fresh pasta daily in Salumi’s Seattle storefront.

Known as the “Godfather of Salami,” founder Armandino Batali’s  original handwriting was retained in Salumi’s refreshed logo. We boosted contrast for legibility and added the modifier, “The Original since 1999,” to underscore Salumi’s roots as industry pioneers.
